Jalapeno Poppers

These are dee-spanking-licious! And a whole lot cheaper than those frozen-in-a-box things you buy in the grocery store. Try 'em!

You will need the following:

  1. Fresh whole jalapenos from the produce section of any grocery store
  2. Knife
  3. One package of cream cheese
  4. Shredded cheddar cheese
  5. Real bacon bits (optional)
  6. Oven
  7. Water (or your favorite beverage) to wash down the hottness of the peppers! Yumola!

OK...here we go:

  1. Cut the jalapenos down the middle so that they open like a boat. Make sure to rinse out the insides. They must be hollow.
  2. Soften the cream cheese 30 seconds in a microwave. Then spoon the cream cheese into the jalapeno shells.
  3. Place the filled jalapenos on a baking pan (with the cream cheese side up, of course).
  4. Bake them at 325 degrees for about 35 minutes. Watch them to make sure cream cheese is not spilling out. It shouldn't happen, but ya never know!
  5. Pull them out and sprinkle cheddar cheese and bacon pieces on top.
  6. Bake for 5 more minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and voila! Ready to sink your teeth into. You'll have to agree that they are scrump-diddly-umptious!
  8. If you don't agree, then go to Wal-mart and pay all you want for those crappy frozen bricks that they call Jalepeno poppers.
  9. Make sure to turn off the oven so you don't burn your pad down.
